On The Lighter Side From The Sheslay Valley

Sheslay Valley, NW British Columbia

He’s a “gamer”.  He survived a bone-chilling cold snap in November, allowing Doubleview Capital Corp. (DBV, TSX-V) to drill a fifth hole – HAT-11 – in its second round of drilling which gave confirmation of an early-stage Cu-Au porphyry discovery at the Hat Property.  He returned to the property last month and led the charge to enable the company to quickly set up a winterized camp and resume drilling.  DBV field manager Ty George has experience at several large deposits in northern B.C. and is clearly a key member of the Doubleview team as it aggressively pursues a major discovery in the rapidly emerging Sheslay Valley district.

After a busy day on the site, Ty decided to take a spin on his own 2012 Ski-Doo Freeride 800 – which ultimately led to a spill as you’ll see in this 1-minute video.  But Ty is nonetheless an acrobat on the Ski-Doo, to go along with his many other talents.

  1. How many people are based at the camp? I guess it is not 5 star accommodation, but are you all reasonably warm and comfortable?

  3. Can you be more specific, Laurie, are u just seeing a black screen or the video just not starting for you? We haven’t had any other reported issues (at least so far), could be something on your end.

  4. Tom, there are about 12-16 at the camp at the moment. Doubleview has done a fantastic job in setting things up—each unit can accommodate up to 4 people, these are wood structures covered with special canvas (we showed some pictures) and includes a Geo-Stove to keep things warm and comfortable. A kitchen, washing/laundry facilities are on site as well, plus wireless Internet. So while it’s not 5-star accommodation, it’s impressive nonetheless given the location, and was completed in a very efficient and cost-effective way. Farshad is very careful with every penny he spends which should be important to all shareholders. The food and coffee are great.

  5. Thanks for bearing the conditions in order to report from the site. How do you see things panning out in the next 12 months for DBV assuming that drill results are reasonably successful.

  6. Tom, I’m not sure DBV will be around in 12 months, or at least in its current form. It’s not inconceivable that any one of these companies in the Sheslay Valley could be swallowed up by a bigger fish at some point in 2015 as events unfold. Of course that will totally depend on drill results. Keep in mind, though, that after Richfield Ventures made its initial discovery at Blackwater in late 2009, it got taken out by New Gold in early 2011. You’ve got companies moving very aggressively in the Sheslay Valley at the moment and Prosper, with the same team it had at Blackwater, intends to deliver an initial resource estimate certainly within the next 12 months. Garibaldi holds the biggest chunk of land among juniors and a large circular feature over Grizzly Central has geologists very curious, so who knows what may develop there (or elsewhere on their holdings). What we do know at the moment is that this whole district appears to be pregnant and the “hit” ratio on all 59 drill holes to date – historically and over the last 9 months – is unusually high and shows classic Cu-Au porphyry mineralization over very wide distances. I think the key is going to be delineating several deposits (served by one mill complex) with a higher-grade starter pit for economies of scale——the possibility of that looks exceptionally good given all the geological, geochemical and geophysical evidence to date. Immense pressure, heat, and plenty of fluid have all contributed to this system and those are essential ingredients for a cluster of world class porphyry deposits.

  7. You have commented that any of the companies in this area could ultimately command a market cap of $300m. Big crystal ball time, but supposing DBV hit some good grade and tonnage at target C, D and maybe even E with this year’s drill program, have you any idea what the market cap could be in the short term. This definitely sounds like an area play forming in a mining friendly jurisdiction. Roll on drill results, I’m guessing that you cannot comment on the likely timing of the 1st results (unfortunately).

  8. Jon

any idea of when you think GGI will start their drill program and have you had any contact with them lately about which target they would start on first? Do you think they could be waiting to see what the next results are from DBV before they pick a target or start drilling themselves?
    Thanks

  9. Jon: did PGX closed their 4M dollar placement yet? I think the attention has got to come to this area very shortly as you never know what DBV hits! What hole of how many are they on now? Thanks!

  10. Greg, GGI is in an exceedingly favorable position as they’ll be able to examine drill data from DBV and PGX, compare that with extensive geological, geochemical and geophysical data from both those properties, and then look at their own data to determine exactly where to drill which should definitely enhance their odds of a hit right off the bat. They have a lot of ground to cover and several potential locations where they could commence drilling. Starting in just the right spot is critical. IP work will definitely help. Prosper will be the next to drill in a few weeks, and after that will come GGI. Keep in mind that GGI also has ground very close to the Hat discovery holes and contiguous to Pyrrhotite Creek which should emerge as an important new discovery in the area. Personally, I think Grizzly Central is where GGI will sink the drill bit first, even though they already have drill-ready targets at Grizzly West. But anything can happen. In the meantime, GGI news is due from Mexico and given the quality of some targets down there, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some interesting developments out of one or more of those properties in Mexico rather imminently.

  12. Yes Jon , I agree, ggi needs to update or report on drilling in Mexico. It’s been 3 months and it’s time to give an update.the grizzly is a few months away till they have anything solid from there.

  13. Steven, PGX stated “on or about April 11” for the closing of their financing, and I can’t imagine it won’t be fully subscribed for. So we should be hearing something on that very soon. In terms of DBV drilling, I don’t know exactly what hole they’re on——and of course it depends how deep they’re going. They’ve been drilling for almost 14 days now – even at a conservative 75 m a day, that would put them about 1000 m into this drill program which would mean probably early third hole.

  14. Sorry boys! The only stock to be into right now is v.SL.Another big news release is set to propel this to new highs today, and should go well over .20 this week if all goes according to plan.

  15. Jim, welcome back, too bad you didn’t stick it out with DBV, you would have made a very healthy profit from the .06 range

  16. Sorry Jim but Sl is not the place to be right now, its dropping like a rock after todays release. Best of luck!
